Hasani Management Inc.- Building Futures and Community through Youth Empowerment

Nestled in the heart of West Park, Hasani Management Inc., led by the passionate and dedicated Chinetha Hall, is transforming the lives of local youth through a wide variety of empowering programs. With a deep commitment to fostering growth and development, the organization offers enriching experiences such as summer garden camps, performing arts, and workforce development opportunities. What sets Hasani Management apart is its inclusive approach, ensuring that youth with special needs receive the same opportunities as their peers without disabilities. Under Chinetha Hall’s leadership, Hasani Management is not only nurturing creativity, leadership, and teamwork among young people, but also providing them with the tools to thrive in life beyond the camp and classroom. By offering these programs, Hasani Management creates a vibrant space where all youth—regardless of their background or abilities—can develop important skills, build confidence, and grow into empowered individuals. The impact of these initiatives stretches far beyond just the participants, as they help to strengthen the community, fostering a spirit of inclusion, resilience, and opportunity for all.
Hasani Management Inc. emerged from the work Chinetha Hall was already doing with East Cleveland’s LoveFest Fashion Show. As an assistant to her mentor, Anthony J. Goshay (Tony), Chinetha helped create a space where youth could express themselves, build self-confidence, and form a supportive network. Tragically, just a year into their partnership, Tony passed away just weeks before their next fashion show. Determined to honor his legacy and continue the meaningful work they had started, Chinetha founded Hasani Management while working with at risk youth in East Cleveland, Ohio, naming it after her son’s middle name, “Hasani.” Initially focused on performing arts, the organization carried forward Tony’s passion for modeling and fashion as a key part of its programming. Chinetha even took students to New York City, where they participated in a fashion show, explored talent agencies and learned how to build arts resumes and theater portfolios, furthering their education and creative potential.

As her work grew, Chinetha began to see more needs in the youth she was serving that she sought to address. She expanded the work of Hasani Management to include more than performing arts. 20 years later, Hasani Management Inc. has grown to include trauma recovery, sustainability and environmental awareness, health and wellness, economic development and education through workforce development, and humanitarianism and philanthropy through initiatives like Gifts from Lolo.
Chinetha moved to West Park and lived on Rocky River Drive in 2003. She chose West Park as a safe place with new opportunities for her and her family. To Chinetha, West Park screams “FAMILY!” She appreciates how families are involved in the lives of their children and encourages them to thrive in West Park. Her house off Rocky River drive had a huge backyard, and out of this backyard, the first gardening camp took place almost 15 years ago. She invited all the families she was serving in the east side, and they all came to garden, share in fellowship, and to receive a homecooked meal on the weekends. Hasani Management Inc is still based in West Park on Rocky River Dr. and Woodbury Ave. The garden camps take place on Sundays from June-October and offer more than just gardening. They emphasize garden-to-table learning, by instilling an appreciation for food and empowering students to make informed dietary choices. They also integrate performing and visual arts, sports, mental health, and more to offer a well-rounded curriculum of activities for all students. They also work to ensure that all programs are accessible to all students, even those with physical and mental disabilities. Students and families involved in Hasani stay connected to the organization, even after they graduate. Chinetha takes pride in how many of her students come back as teenagers and adults to volunteer with Hasani. She also takes pride in the fact that Hasani Management Inc students have a 100% high school graduation rate.

Every December, Hasani Management Inc. puts on Christmas Gifts from LoLo to benefit families from all over Cleveland. This event began in 2013 to honor the memory of Chinetha’s mother, Loretta Hall, who was one of the original mentors for the Hasani Garden camp. Chinetha remembers fondly her mother’s generosity, especially with the families of Hasani, whether it was taking meals to feed the homeless, purchasing Christmas gifts for families in need, or purchasing steak and shrimp to cook and feed the students at the camp. Chinetha continues to honor the legacy of LoLo’s generosity by hosting a toy drive event for any family who needs it. The event is a day of joy and celebration with music, crafts, food, and of course, toys given out to all families in attendance. In the first year, Christmas Gifts from Lolo served 50 children and their families. Today, that number has grown to over 500 children and families served through this program.
In the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic, Chinetha and Hasani Management Inc. stepped up to address the issues facing many families, including mental health, the effects of isolation on children and how their social and emotional skills were affected, and health of the community at large. They created the “Everybody Needs a Mask!” campaign, which assisted families in need of supplies like masks, hand sanitizer, cleaning supplies, and more. This campaign inspired a children’s book written by Chinetha entitled Everybody Needs a Mask! ¡Todos Necesitan Una Máscara! as a call to all communities to assist one-another, care about the health and well-being of their neighbors, and to empower youth to take on leadership within their community.

Hasani Management Inc. continues its work of building community and empowering youth through its programming and initiatives. Their latest campaign, titled “Stop the Violence”, aims to address the issues of violence in communities and around the world. As part of this campaign, Hasani Management Inc. is looking to put out an album of anti-violence music, written and recorded by Hasani students and volunteers, a new children’s book, and to work with their students on building skills that can help their communities and beyond. Chinetha hopes to bring her students back to New York City, this time to visit the United Nations as Global Youth Ambassadors. While she eventually hopes to be able to take the work and mission of Hasani Management Inc. out around the country, and even around the world, Chinetha believes in “helping people in our backyard first.” Chinetha also recently became a licensed Realtor and continues her mission to help families manage their dreams into reality through homeownership.
