Introducing Kamm’s Corps: A New Way to Volunteer in West Park!
Introducing Kamm’s Corps: A New Chapter of Community Volunteering
West Park Kamm’s Neighborhood Development has long offered volunteer opportunities for residents and friends. From community clean-ups to supporting neighbors in need, we’ve always believed in rolling up our sleeves and working together to make a difference.
As we’ve reflected on our internal systems, we recognized some barriers that were limiting our ability to grow and connect. So we got to work, reimagining what volunteering could look like, not just for us, but for the entire neighborhood. What emerged is a new vision: one rooted in accessibility, connection, and shared purpose.
We’re proud to introduce Kamm’s Corps: a resident-driven, community-led effort that celebrates the spirit of West Park while deepening our capacity to serve. Kamm’s Corps meets people where they are, creates space for authentic connections, and invites everyone to help shape the future of our neighborhood.
Volunteer opportunities are now easier to find and more accessible than ever before whether you’re looking to pitch in for a single event or hoping to stay involved long-term. We’ve streamlined how we match volunteers with needs, ensuring anyone who wants to help can do so with ease.
Kamm’s Corps has four primary volunteering initiatives:
- Event Ambassadors: Support local events like farmers markets and street festivals by volunteering to help bring events to life!
- West Park Green Team: Help with sustainability projects like tree planting, community gardening, and more hands-on efforts to keep West Park green.
- Home Helpers: Lend a hand with home projects, from group efforts like yard cleanups and painting to smaller tasks like fixing faucets or hanging curtains.
- Civic Leaders: Serve on a committee or our Board of Directors in areas like HR, real estate, finance, marketing, and more.
Additionally, we will be using the volunteer hour tracking tool within our new volunteer management system to offer rewards based on hours volunteered. Later this year, Kamm’s Corps members will get exclusive invites to member mixers and more. A major goal of this program is to prioritize volunteer appreciation and highlight how much we value volunteers.
At West Park Kamm’s, we’ve always believed in grassroots action and the power of neighbors helping neighbors. In a time when disconnection can feel all too common, Kamm’s Corps offers a way to come together with purpose, pride, and heart.
